Review Methodology
Every Tech Science Review evaluation uses five weighted dimensions. The evidence needed within each dimension changes by category, but the weights do not.

Performance and reliability
We assess whether a product can perform its intended job consistently. Relevant evidence can include sustained performance, connection stability, thermals, battery behavior, component quality, failure patterns, and warranty coverage.

Compatibility and interoperability
We check operating systems, ports, protocols, standards, accessory requirements, account dependencies, and likely conflicts. A product that works only in a narrow or poorly documented setup must make that limitation clear.

Usability and accessibility
We consider setup, controls, error recovery, documentation, physical access, software clarity, and accessibility features. Convenience does not outweigh a material compatibility or privacy problem.

Privacy, security, support, and lifespan
We examine data practices, local versus cloud dependence, update commitments, vulnerability response, repairability, replacement parts, warranty, and the risk of premature obsolescence.

Value and total ownership cost
Value includes more than purchase price. We account for subscriptions, required accessories, energy use, consumables, repair options, ecosystem lock-in, and expected useful life.
How evidence is described
Manufacturer documentation, independent evidence, and editorial judgment are labeled distinctly. “Hands-on tested” is permitted only when the exact unit, date, protocol, and observations are recorded. Each guide explains important gaps and uncertainty rather than presenting missing evidence as a positive result.
